- Wash Your Hands
Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.
- Removing the Bandage
- When you get home, remove the bandage.
- Do not re-bandage anymore.
- Cleaning Your Tattoo
- Wash your tattoo gently using mild, soapy water.
- Use only your clean hands—do not use a washcloth or sponge.
- After washing, gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Applying Cream
- Allow the tattoo to air dry.
- For the first 3–4 days, apply a small amount of cream to your tattoo.
- Always use clean hands.
- Avoid placing your fingers back into the cream jar after touching your tattoo (use a clean tool or portion out the cream beforehand).
- Massage the cream gently into your skin.
- Continue to apply cream 3–5 times daily, as needed.
- Amount of Cream
- Use a minimal amount of cream—little and often is best.
- Clothing Care
- Wear clean, soft clothing over your tattoo for the first two weeks.
- Avoid anything abrasive or irritating.
- Special Care for Foot Tattoos
- Go barefoot as often as possible during healing.
- Peeling and Scabbing
- Around day 3 or 4, your tattoo may start to peel—this is normal.
- Do not pick at peeling skin or scabs.
- Longer-Term Moisturizing
- Continue to use cream or moisturizer for the next two weeks.
- Apply it 1–2 times daily until your tattoo is fully healed.
